Twins outlast Royals 3-2 in 12, but Kurt Suzuki hurt in collision

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --Kurt Suzuki, as he has done so many times before, gave up his body for a very big out.

This time it might end up costing him dearly.

The Twins' all-star catcher had to be helped off the field in the 10th inning of Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. Miguel Sano's pinch homer in the top of the 12th inning gave the Twins the series victory over the runaway leaders of the American League Central.

It was Sano's 16th homer but just his fourth off a left-hander. Royals veteran Franklin Morales gave up the 420-foot blast on a 3-2 fastball at 94 mph.
