FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The roster situation for the Twins gained some clarity on Thursday, as right-handers Tyler Duffey and Alan Busenitz were optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
The moves leave the Twins with 13 healthy pitchers in camp competing for 12 spots, with Phil Hughes expected to serve as a long reliever or the fifth starter and Rule 5 Draft right-hander Tyler Kinley making a strong push to make the roster.
Lefty Gabriel Moya, who is having an excellent spring, could be the odd man out in a bullpen that's expected to also include closer Fernando Rodney, Addison Reed, Zach Duke, Trevor Hildenberger and Taylor Rogers.
