NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Miguel Sano has unilaterally ended his season in the Dominican Winter League so he can focus on conditioning and the transition to corner outfield.
There are no injury concerns, Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Thursday as the winter meetings ended.
"He has not been shut down, but I have heard that he has decided to not play," Ryan said. "It's not because of us, or anything that I have expressed; I have not talked to him about that. It might have come from somebody else, but it didn't come from me.
