DETROIT -- Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki never received a standing eight count, but it would have been fitting during Miguel Cabrera's 12-pitch walk in Sunday's third inning.
In a span of three pitches, Suzuki took a pair of foul tips off his mask and another off his right shoulder. At one point, Suzuki stood up and said something to Cabrera, who seemed apologetic.
"He got beat up again today," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "He's been a warrior. It's been amazing. As I've played him more, his game has picked up."
Suzuki, who drove in the Twins' first run Sunday for his 50th run batted in, is due to sit Monday against Cleveland ace Corey Kluber.
