MINNEAPOLIS -- One of the repercussions of the Twins' disappointing record in August is limited work for closer Glen Perkins. Entering Saturday's game in the ninth inning of a non-save situation was just the fourth appearance for the stopper this month. Perhaps the inactivity attributed to his erratic control, as he allowed a run on two hits to the Tribe.
Perkins has one save this month and two since the All-Star break. And he has as many blown saves since then. Certainly, Minnesota's starting pitching and offense woes have prevented the team from putting its stopper in position to finish games consistently.
