BOSTON -- The Twins are hopeful right-hander Ricky Nolasco will be able to avoid the disabled list after an MRI on his right ankle showed no structural damage.
Nolasco, who had to leave Sunday's start against Toronto in the second inning, will try to throw a bullpen Thursday at Fenway Park. That rules him out of starting Friday's interleague series opener against Milwaukee at Target Field.
"We'll see how it goes when I throw on Thursday," Nolasco said. "I'm just going day by day right now. Who knows what's going to happen?
