Glen Perkins threw 31 pitches in a bullpen session on Monday at Target Field. It was supposed to be 30 pitches, but he didn't like toss No. 30.
"So he threw one more," Twins manager Paul Molitor said.
Afterward, the Twins closer who has been struggling with a lower back strain, said he felt good.
"It was a really good first step," Perkins said. "Especially, I think pitches 16-31 felt a lot better than the first 15, so that's good. Everything held up, the arm felt good and extension and all those things. Just being able to bend over and all that while I was throwing, it went well, it really did.
