ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Twins closer Glen Perkins moved into third place on the club's career list with his 117th save on Thursday afternoon.
Having passed Al Worthington, Jeff Reardon and Ron Davis earlier this season, Perkins used the occasion of his 29th save to honor the man he passed Thursday: first-year bullpen coach Eddie Guardado.
With a proud smile, Guardado reached into his back pocket and pulled out the signed game ball Perkins presented to him just after a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
