There was no touching Jake Arrieta on Sunday afternoon.
The Cubs right-hander turned in a dominant performance against the Twins in an 8-0 complete-game shutout to claim the three-game interleague series at Target Field.
A sellout crowd of 40,273 saw the Twins manage just four hits off Arrieta in falling to 7-13 for the month.
Anthony Rizzo connected off Twins starter Kyle Gibson (4-6) for his third homer of the series, and Dexter Fowler added a grand slam off Michael Tonkin in a six-run eighth.
After Joe Mauer's two-out double off the wall in the first, Arrieta (7-5) buckled down.
