Kyle Gibson won't start again after the all-star break until the fourth spot comes up in the Twins' resurgent rotation.
That, however, is no reflection on how well the ramrod right-hander has pitched in this breakout first half.
Giving up just one unearned run in seven strong innings, Gibson pitched the Twins to a 7-1 win over the Detroit Tigers on a muggy Sunday afternoon at Target Field.
The 27-year-old former first-round draft pick rolled three more double-play grounders, and it easily could have been four had the ball not gotten caught in shortstop Danny Santana's glove in the second inning.
