The Twins avoided arbitration with two starting pitchers Friday, agreeing to terms with Kyle Gibson and Hector Santiago on one-year contracts, according to MLB Network Insider Jon Heyman. The club has not confirmed the deals.
Heyman reported the club agreed with Santiago for $8 million, and with Gibson for $2.9 million.
Gibson, 29, went 6-11 with a 5.07 ERA in 25 starts in 2016. He was arbitration-eligible for the first time.
Santiago, 29, went 3-6 with a 5.58 ERA in 11 starts after being acquired from the Angels at the non-waiver Trade Deadline last July.
