Twins center fielder Aaron Hicks is ticketed for a minor-league rehabilitation assignment in Rochester, N.Y., with no guarantee of a return trip to Minnesota.
Hicks' status with the Twins remains uncertain as he works back from a strained right (throwing) elbow that disabled him June 13 and opened the door for top-rated prospect Byron Buxton to make his major-league debut.
"No decisions have been made as far as everything; he's just going down on a rehab assignment," Twins general manager Terry Ryan said about Hicks before Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
"Let's see what he does.
