Minnesota Twins outfielder Torii Hunter has received a two-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his actions during the bottom of the eighth inning of the Club's Wednesday, June 10th game against the Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Joe Garagiola, Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards & On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
Hunter's suspension had been scheduled to begin tonight, when the Twins are to begin a road series against the Texas Rangers. However, he has elected to file an appeal. Thus, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
