MINNEAPOLIS -- The Orioles on Saturday reinstated right-hander Chris Tillman from the paternity list. To make room, the team designated infielder Paul Janish for assignment prior to the game with the Twins at Target Field.
Janish appeared in 14 games for Baltimore, collecting a pair of hits and three RBIs. With Triple-A Norfolk this year, the 34-year-old infielder hit .255 to go along with his two homers and 16 RBIs.
"Hopefully he will clear [waivers]," O's manager Buck Showalter said Saturday. "It's tough, somebody has to go. We had four or five options, and that was the one that was decided on.
