TORONTO -- Right-hander Ervin Santana rejoined the Twins on Tuesday in advance of his season debut against the Blue Jays on Wednesday after missing nearly the first three months of the year because of surgery to remove calcium deposits from his right middle finger.
Santana was initially expected to be back in late April or early May, but he suffered a few setbacks, including ending his first rehab assignment in late May early. But he's healthy now and said he's excited to make his return after a lengthy absence. The Twins will have to activate Santana from the 60-day disabled list, which will require additions to both the 25-man and 40-man rosters.
