MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins' offense erupted for five runs in the second inning on Thursday against the Tigers at Target Field, as a few key offensive contributors kept up their recent hot streaks.
Logan Forsythe started the scoring in the second with a two-run ground-rule double down the right-field line to plate Johnny Field and Ehire Adrianza, pushing Minnesota's lead to 5-2. Jorge Polanco, who hit a three-run home run in the first inning, followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring Joe Mauer, and then Miguel Sano crushed a two-run opposite-field homer to cap the frame.
