NEW YORK -- Twins reliever Ryan Pressly suffered a setback in his recovery from a right lat strain, and he is expected to miss the rest of the season, Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Monday.
Pressly, who suffered the injury while pitching in Kansas City on July 4, was rehabbing and progressed to playing long toss at Target Field last week. But it didn't go well, which caused Pressly to restart his rehab program, and there won't be enough time for him to return this season.
"We backed him off, and we're starting from scratch again," Ryan said.
