The Twins returned a vital piece of their bullpen Thursday, reinstating former All-Star closer Glen Perkins from the 60-day disabled list.
Perkins spent more than four months on the DL after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The left-hander made three consecutive American League All-Star teams before this season, saving 118 games from 2012-16.
The 34-year-old appeared in just two games before injuring his shoulder this season.
Minnesota placed lefty reliever Dietrich Enns on the 10-day disabled list in a corresponding move, and it will call up Aaron Slegers from Triple-A Rochester as the starter for the nightcap of Thursday's doubleheader against the Indians.
