Minnesota Twins' Trevor Plouffe sits as flu hits clubhouse

DETROIT -- Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe was out of Sunday's lineup with flu-like symptoms.

Utility man Eduardo Nunez took his place.

"We've got a little bit of a bug going around the clubhouse," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "We've got a lot of guys fighting different things. Little bit of (high) temperature, body-aching type things. Trevor's one of those guys."

Plouffe, who leads the team with 82 runs batted in and is third with 21 home runs, had started 50 of 52 games since returning from maternity leave on Aug. 1. He has hit just .
