The Minnesota Twins made their first big move of the winter meetings, though it really won’t play much into the 2018 season.
Minnesota Twins beat writer Rhett Bollinger reported on Wednesday morning that the Twins signed Michael Pineda to a 2-year deal that will total $10 million. Pineda is recovering from Tommy John surgery, so he won’t pitch until September 2018 at the very soonest, most likely not at all in 2018, so this is a deal for 2019.
Pineda breakdown
This will be the second TJS for Pineda after having the surgery in 2012.
