The Minnesota Twins have placed Byron Buxton on the disabled list. The Twins centerfielder suffered a sprained thumb on a stolen base attempt against the Chicago White Sox.
The Twins number one prospect struggled though his first 11 games in the big leagues. The young centerfielder was hitting .189 with a triple and a double. He was starting to show signs of breaking out in his last four games he hit .333 and had a mini three-game hitting streak.
Buxton’s struggles at the plate didn’t let it stop him from providing stellar defense in centerfield. The argument could be made that he’s the fastest player in the majors.
