– The Minnesota Twins dropped their spring training home opener last night by a score of 6-5 against the Red Sox. The ending of the game was not without controversy. Umpire Jeff Kellogg called Joe Benson out on a force play at home in the 9th inning. Benson looked safe. (judge for yourself) There would have been no doubt if Benson had run hard to the plate. That would have been the tying run. James Beresford ground out to end the game and the rally.
Byung Ho Park got his first North American hit with a single.
