The Minnesota Twins are starting to build momentum heading into the final month of the season. If Friday night’s series opener against the Detroit Tigers is any indication of what this team can do once the calendar turns to September, opposing teams could be in real trouble.
While the Twins have dominated opposing teams thanks to their muscle at the plate, their last two wins have come via death by a 1,000 singles. OK, perhaps the Twins didn’t rack up 1,000 hits in their victory over the Tigers, but thanks to several balls that found grass, the Twins were able to accumulate 14 hits in their 13-5 victory.
