The Minnesota Twins signed Dillon Gee on June 22nd, 2017 after the Texas Rangers granted him free agency. Gee was drafted in the 21st round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the New York Mets. He spent six years and pitched 679.1 innings for the Mets.

In one game started and three relief appearances for Texas Gee had a 4.15 ERA in thirteen innings but gave up four home runs. He was granted free agency by the Rangers and the Twins picked him up. With a bullpen and rotation that continues to rotate on the back end the team needed arms.
