Minnesota Twins: Byron Buxton returns

The number one overall prospect in baseball, Byron Buxton started his rehab assignment for Triple-A Rochester tonight.

Buxton had been out since June 24 with a sprained thumb. Buxton hit .189 and scored five runs and provided solid defense in center field in 11 games with the Minnesota Twins before landing on the disabled list.

He was the designated hitter and hit leadoff for the Red Wings in his first game back and his first game at the Triple-A level.

Buxton got his rehab assignment started off on the right foot going 3-5 with an RBI and a run scored.
