Michael Cuddyer wrote about his decision to retire after 15 years in the MLB in an article published Saturday in The Players' Tribune -- and wasted no time lauding the Minnesota Twins organization.
Signing with the Twins out of high school didn't exactly a thrill for Cuddyer, but it ended up making "all the difference" in his career, he wrote.
"Our lockers had to be in order, our cleats had to be clean, and our infield needed to be errorless," Cuddyer said of his experience in the Twins minor league system.
And while Cuddyer was drafted by a Twins team mired in mediocrity -- even futility -- he quickly realized they were a team on the rise.
