MINNEAPOLIS -- With a laundry list of injuries hindering the Twins' season thus far, pregame workouts for rehabbing stars have become a common occurrence at Target Field.
On Sunday, two players who could be crucial for the Twins moving forward worked out on the field before Minnesota's series finale with the Angels.
First baseman Joe Mauer, who is working his way back from a cervical neck strain, took batting practice, fielded ground balls at first and ran the bases during a half-hour workout. Center fielder Byron Buxton, who is recovering from a fractured toe, also ran the bases.
