Miguel Cabrera hit two home runs for the Tigers, who trailed 7-3 in the fifth inning before rallying to win 10-7 Wednesday afternoon at Target Field.
Phil Hughes suffered a mild strain of his left hip flexor muscle.
He finished five innings before being removed. Hughes left with the Twins ahead, the first lead he’d pitched with this season, but relievers Tim Stauffer and Aaron Thompson let the Tigers tie the game in the sixth.
Hughes threw 71 pitches, striking out four while allowing seven hits. The Twins announced the nature of his injury two innings later.
