Twins general manager Terry Ryan isn't one for effusive praise. But asked if first-year manager Paul Molitor could be a candidate for American League manager of the year, Ryan agreed.
"I would say he would be in the discussion," Ryan said. "I'm not sure I could say one negative thing about how things have gone this year. He has pressed a lot of the right buttons.
"If you look at our raw numbers, there's a couple guys having pretty good years. But for the most part, you wonder sometimes how we're doing it. Certainly (Glen) Perkins had a tremendous first half, (Brian) Dozier's had a pretty good first half.
