The Minnesota Twins have placed right-handed reliever, Casey Fien on the disabled list. Fien sustained a shoulder strain while pitching in Wednesday’s loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Before yesterday’s performance, Fien had been the Twins most reliable righty out of the bullpen. Fien had a 1.93 earned run average. In yesterday’s loss, Fien gave up three runs on five hits in an inning of work.
Taking Fien’s spot in the bullpen will be righty, Michael Tonkin. Tonkin had been pitching out of the bullpen for the Twins Triple-A team, the Rochester Red Wings.
