MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota center fielder Byron Buxton exited in the second inning of the Twins' series finale against the White Sox on Sunday after coming up limping while running to third base on an inning-ending groundout. His status was not immediately known.
Buxton initially held up between second and third on a two-out grounder to third by Robbie Grossman before having to speed up to reach third on what appeared to be a dropped throw by White Sox first baseman Todd Frazier. Buxton walked gingerly off the base and was evaluated by trainers during the ensuing White Sox challenge and walked off the field without assistance as he exited the game.
