MINNEAPOLIS -- Center fielder Byron Buxton suffered a left hand injury on a swing with Triple-A Rochester on Thursday night, but X-rays performed on Friday came back negative. He also underwent a precautionary MRI exam, but the Twins have yet to receive the results.
Buxton, whose season has been marred by a fractured left toe suffered on April 23, continued his bad luck, leaving Rochester's game early with his hand injury Thursday night. The Twins are hopeful it's not related to the hamate bone, as a fractured hamate bone generally keeps players out for six to nine weeks.
