The Minnesota Twins have placed outfielder, Aaron Hicks on the disabled list with a hamstring injury and recalled Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester.
Hicks had been playing the best ball of his career since rejoining the Twins in July. Since July 3, Hicks was hitting .281 with seven home runs, five doubles and two triples.
However, Hicks had come back down to earth the past few weeks hitting just .238 in his past 15 games.
The Twins are currently 3.5 games back of the second Wild Card spot in the American League and have been stuck in neutral since the All-Star Break.
