Hope is a funny thing. The Dallas Mavericks fans are looking towards a bright future with their team. The wins may not be piling up this season, but they have rookie phenom Luka Doncic, oodles of cap space, and a potential companion star in Kristaps Porzingis. They have been able to compete for most of the season, largely on the back of Doncic’s brilliance, and even though they are faltering down the stretch, the team is still able to notch a few big wins.
The Wolves used to have that hope. In Karl-Anthony Towns’ first rookie season and his second, the team may not have always been playing competitive basketball, but it was hard not to be excited about the potential for the team.
