LAS VEGAS – A big early deficit proved to be too much for the Timberwolves to overcome in the Vegas NBA Summer League championship game.
Summer League MVP Brandon Clarke had 15 points and 16 rebounds, and the Memphis Grizzlies held on to beat the Wolves 95-92 on Monday night at Thomas & Mack Center.
Bruno Caboclo and Dusty Hannahs also scored 15 points each for the Grizzlies (6-1), who were guided in Vegas by their new coach, Taylor Jenkins. New Wolves assistant Pablo Prigioni served as their summer coach, with head coach Ryan Saunders sitting in the stands.
