Thursday night’s summer league “regular season” finale for the Minnesota Timberwolves was a lot of things.
It was a reuniting of a University of Kentucky backcourt pairing in Rob Dillingham and Houston Rockets’ third overall pick Reed Sheppard. It was an opportunity for Leonard Miler to successfully build on a 20-point double-double from the Wolves’ previous game against Philadelphia, and the chance for Terrence Shannon Jr. to continue an immaculate Las Vegas showing.
It ended up being almost all of those things, but a high-level shotmaking showcase and a clean offensive game it did not.
