The Grizzlies are just 22-58 on the season and are playing out the string under an interim head coach in former Timberwolves assistant J.B. Bickerstaff.
They had lost four in a row before defeating Detroit on Sunday, and prior to beating the Wolves back on March 26 had lost 23 of their past 24 games. Their win at Target Center two weeks ago remains the Grizzlies’ only road win of the calendar year.
Yet when the Grizz came to Minneapolis to face the Jimmy Butler-less Wolves and held Karl-Anthony Towns to 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting.
