Last week, Zaila Avant-garde (Last name changed by her father) became the first African-American winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. However, that amazing accomplishment wasn’t a surprise to those who knew the 14-year-old before her seemingly overnight fame. Of her many wide array of talents, being an absolute stud of a basketball player is one of them.
