After a semi-hot start to kick off the 2021-22 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves have quickly turned back into their traditional pumpkin-like state, dropping their last four consecutive home games as they prepare to head off on a four-game road trip on Monday.
As many of you know by now, I’m an eternal optimist when it comes to many topics in life (including my beloved Timberwolves), but this last week or so of on-court “performances” has done next to nothing to instill confidence or hope in the direction of this current squad. While I remain bullish on the long-term future of the franchise (primarily because of Anthony Edwards), things are not bright and beautiful right now at Mayo Clinic Square, and the only way get the train back on the tracks is simple: win basketball games (don’t just talk about winning basketball games, but actually go out and accomplish the mission).
