Timberwolves coach Sam Mitchell needed some good news amid his team's current skid, so he seemed excited to reveal that center Nikola Pekovic could return to the lineup Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets.
Mitchell said after Tuesday's practice that Pekovic, out the entire season recovering from a right Achilles' tendon surgery, has a "50-50" chance of seeing the court Wednesday night at Target Center.
The 6-foot-11, 290-pound veteran hasn't played since a March 9 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers last season.
"He's practicing, and we're hoping it's a 50-50 chance Pek might play," Mitchell said.
