Timberwolves Trade With Spurs, Select Rob Dillingham No. 8 Overall

Minnesota Timberwolves fans expected to wait around for a few hours before their team made a selection late in the first round at No. 27 overall. President of Basketball Tim Connelly had other plans.

The Wolves’ lead executive continued his dominance in the draft, as ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Wolves are sending a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for the eighth pick, which is point guard Rob Dillingham out of Kentucky.

The Wolves see their championship window as open.
