We’ve spent some time discussing the former Chicago Bulls coach here, going all the way back to last May when he was originally fired, and again this fall, prior to Flip Saunders’ tragic and untimely death.
Now, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Wolves have internally discussed Thibodeau as a candidate for 2016-17 and that Thibs himself would have interest, as would many other unemployed coaches, given the strength of the Timberwolves’ young core.
As mentioned in the second link, Thibodeau’s first job in the NBA was as an assistant with the Wolves more than a couple decades ago.
