The trade makes no sense for Memphis, and would really only result in a win for the Timberwolves. Then again, Kevin Martin has proven to be a capable offensive spark off the bench, and could provide the some production on the offensive end that Memphis characteristically lacks.
It is understood that the Timberwolves want to trade Martin in part due to his toxic contract, meaning that trading him would allow them to work with more cap space in the future. In addition to this, the amount of money the team is paying Martin currently isn’t worth the type of contribution he makes on the floor.
