Timberwolves report: Shabazz Muhammad rising, but Tayshaun Prince starting

Despite Shabazz Muhammad's continued offensive emergence, Timberwolves interim head coach Sam Mitchell is sticking with defensive stopper Tayshaun Prince in the starting lineup.

"He takes the toughest offensive player on the perimeter every night," Mitchell said. "It allows Andrew (Wiggins) a little bit more freedom to put in more energy offensively."

Wiggins is the Wolves' leading scorer at 20.4 points per game this season, which before Sunday was 19th-best in the NBA. He led the Wolves again Sunday with 21 points in their 93-87 loss to Dallas at Target Center.

Muhammad, meanwhile, continues to provide a jolt off the bench.
