Here's the warning Sam Mitchell and Kevin Garnett gave to Karl-Anthony Towns on shooting three-pointers: Don't fall in love.
"That three-point line is hypnotic," said Mitchell, the Wolves' interim head coach. "You can just fall in love with it too much, and many players have just -- I don't want to say ruined their careers -- but just short-changed themselves and become one-dimensional because of the three-point line."
Given Towns' volume of shots through 25 games, the rookie power forward-center hasn't become smitten, but there have been flirtations.
Towns was shooting 42.9 percent from deep (9 of 21) heading into Friday night's game against the Sacramento Kings at Target Center.
