Not only did the Wolves finish the first half of the season with impressive wins at home against the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors and a road win against the streaking Los Angeles Clippers, but the team dominated All-Star Weekend, bring home some hardware and receiving a lot of attention on the national stage.
Andrew Wiggins poured in 29 points in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge and received MVP chants from his home town in Toronto.
Karl-Anthony Towns won the Taco Bell Skills Challenge…as a center.
And finally, and most importantly perhaps, Zach LaVine put up 30 points in route to an game MVP in the Rising Stars game and also defended his slam dunk title by winning the Verizon Slam Dunk contest in a match-up for the ages with Orlando’s Aaron Gordon.
