Taj Gibson has been a positive influence on the Minnesota Timberwolves’ mostly negative defensive unit. His ability to switch onto wings after a pick-and-roll and have moderate success containing them has been a huge asset. He also knows where he’s supposed to be at all times and often helps direct his younger teammates.
Oddly enough, he might be doing a little too much directing, as he currently leads the league with eight defensive three-second calls on him this season. Even though that’s only three more than the two guys in second place (Timofey Mozgov and Kyle O’Quinn), I’m going to make it sound a lot better and say it’s nearly double the guys below him.
