With the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference still up for grabs, the Minnesota Timberwolves took on the Phoenix Suns in the final game of the regular season.
There were still many possible playoff scenarios for the Timberwolves heading into the game. With a win, the Wolves would clinch a top-two seed with either a loss by the Oklahoma City Thunder or Denver Nuggets. With a loss, Minnesota was in danger of falling to the three-seed if the Thunder and Nuggets both win.
This is the third and final matchup between the Wolves and Suns with this being the first time Phoenix has come to Target Center with the Suns winning the previous two matchups in Phoenix.
