The Timberwolves' Shabazz Muhammad has reached a contract buyout with the team by tonight's deadline, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.
It will allow him the chance to be on the playoff roster if a playoff-bound team now signs him as a free agent once he clears waivers.
Muhammad's agents for weeks have sought to find him a new home where he can play more than with the Wolves, which has been very little most of the season.
He re-signed to a veteran's minimum contract with the Wolves last fall, but had a player option for next season that he'll now forego after the buyout.
