Kevin Garnett is unquestionably the greatest player in Minnesota Timberwolves history. It’s for that reason alone he should have already had his jersey retired at the Target Center.
Unfortunately, relationships have gotten in the way as Garnett is not on good terms with owner Glenn Taylor. This dysfunction might lead to the future Hall of Famer seeing his jerseys hung in the rafters of a different arena far before Minnesota.
However, if you ask Paul Pierce, who recently had his jersey retired by the Boston Celtics, he will tell you Garnett prefers it that way:
[Garnett would] rather have his jersey retired in Boston than in Minnesota.
